Up-stream (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan) and down-stream countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan) in the Aral Sea Basin do not share the same interests and still have not agreed on a common approach to deal with the consequences of climate change. One country should not benefit on the cost of the other, therefore a unified approach must ensure sustainable development with a maximum welfare for the region.
